Study SMart shop~D@y 01

Date:April 5,2008
Time:9.00am to 530pm
Weather: cooling as it was raining
I just reached home after being in MMU extension exam hall which was freezing cold for in for 8 hours plus~ arrggh~~ it was a tiring day
WHAT I HAVE GAINED TODAY??
Today, in that particular smart shop, i got to know several NEW friends~~namely: Pui Ling, the current president of Accounting club, MeauShin, the treasurer or the financial officer of the event, Jason, the one who has the youngest look but with the oldest age~~~(i wander what is his secret of staying the youth), Kelvin, Pui Ling's brother who had just finished his journey in secondary life and heading to join the "MENARA GADING" society~, Ying ying, whom i have known since secondary one( not new at all~~), Andy Poh, the director of this smart shop~( known him since secondary too~~...not new after all~~)...
The first day in Smart shop~
There's one interesting thing i learnt today!! i got to know my brain actual size~~AMAZING~my brain is actually very small~~..According to the speaker of the day, Mr. Jaya who "OWNED" half of the Jaya JUSCO(nahh~~he was just crapping away) our brains are actually the size of two hands putting rounded together and a brain approximately weighs 1.50 KG...and my brain is so SMALL...
From left, andy's, my, and sophie's brain size
Next, we learned about our weaknesses and what we actually wanted. the weakness i stated were: no confidence, lack concentrating, and lack memory skills.(should be more than listed) Ermm...i really hope that i could remember much more that i could now. could i do it?? yeah~ i wander...According to Jaya, failures occurs for reasons: BLAME, EXCUSE and DENY and success achieved by winners are those who have:OWNERSHIPS, ACCOUNTABILITY and RESPONSIBILITY.
OKAY~~i admit that i blame and make alot of excuses and deny lots of my self- weakness~
As the saying by GEORGE WASHINGTON," 99% of all faulures come from people who have a habit of making excuses"
Yeah~i did blame parents for the today ME who do not know how to swim and do not know to play piano~( i really felt ashamed after viewing the video clip Jaya showed that a man with no limbs could actually swim and be independent), i did take excuses for being late or not doing well and i did denied that IT's NOT my fault~~aiks... THEY were mistakes....SHOULD STOP ALL THESE and head for the ownership of knowledge, confidence, courage and be more reliable and responsible for what i would be doing in the future~~ I PROMISE!! Have you ever thought of who was the greatest guinise in the world?was it ALBERT EISTEIN?or PICCASO??NOPE, it was the DA VINCCI. why would he be ?? As he could actually write and paint at the same time with both hands. It implied that his both brains were actually well developed. He had actually learned the science of art with the left brain and learn the art of science by the right brain. DO you KNOW that left brain is the logical side whereas the right brain is the creative side? What left brain does best??? and what our right brain does best?? According to Jaya, to study smart is to learn the right thing with the right side of brain~ For instance, use your right brain for words, step-to-step logic and numbers whereas use your right brain for colours, music, and imagination. Next, we were given tips on how to remembers words: be creative in creating links between words and make up stories~~~ In making the link, you must apply the PEAS principles which stand for Porportion, Exaggerate, Action, and Substitute. Porportion refer to making the things of original size to shrink or enlarge in our imagination. exaggerating is to be illogical in imagination. Action is to add action to non living things whereas the substitute is to replace the the thing of original characteristics with another characteristics. For instance, the elephant is so small that i could put it into my pocket( proportion) and the Computer were the commander of Human(substitute).
Example in class: we were required to memorise the words below: 1.Elephant
2.Computer
3.King 4.Carpet 5mountain 6.car 7.bat 8.Aeroplane 9.table
10.shoes
11.tree
12.light
13.cap
14.horse
15.bread
16.snakes
17.cactus
18.doctor
19.ring
20.piano
We need to run wild in our imagination to create story link between the words so that we could remember all the words in the sequence. For instance, the elephant was sucked into the computer while the king who removed his golden carpet was bathing. the citizens then used the golden carpet to cover the erupting valconic mountains. Meanwhile, a car filled with bats flew to the sky and formed the aeroplane of black. It then landed on a HUGE table with its legs which were wearing a part of NIKE shoes. The tree nearby the table was on fire due to the striking of the lightening~It then transformed into a cap. Inside the cap, there were millions of little horses. The Giant then breaded the horses as his teabreak. As the Giant was enjoying its horse meal, the snakes came by, being provoked, the Giant then swing the snakes into a giant cactus plant. The cactus plants belonged to the doctor. He had been using the cactus as a pescription for his patients all this while. The doctor has a golden ring which would prevail his ability to be a world best piano player ever.
Last subjects today was the goal settings. the goals should be SMART~~not that "SMART" it should be specific, measureable, Achievable, realistic and within the time frame. If we set a goal which is not realistic, not acheivable and no time limits, the goal would eventually be abandoned and rejected by our brains eventually~~
Goethe had the saying" wjatever you can do or dream you cam. begin it. boldness has genius. power and magic in it." IF you dream that you could do, begin to work for it, and your dream should become the truth one day~ i actually believed that when trying out and experiment in the workshop~ you would be able to turn to the back much more further than the first attempt after imaginating that you were doing it~ We need to have faith before we succeed~
CALL IT A DAY~
As the talks ended, we called it a day and awaiting for next day~ Tomorrow should have tea break ( to curb our sleepiness in the afternoon)
