THE ELECTION

Two more days to go, 8 of March would be Malaysia General election day, Flags of parties were all around.From Taman to taman and even on cars.Guess what, my mum just told me my neighbour's car was smashed by somebody and soon after that, the flags all around their house were all removed!!!We doubted what has urgued them to REMOVE ALL even before the vote casting days starts.

WOMEN'S DAY

This year International Women Day(IWD) global theme is "SHAPING PROGRESS"uhuh.... Women should be stronger and progress for a better life and status in society. Just a week ago, i just finished my critique essay on " Women the forgotten victims of AIDS" and too sad to say that nobody including women themselves seems to bother about this life-threatening disease spreading.Arrgghh, someone even said that women should protect themselves by requesting husband to wear condom or refuse to have sex with their husband after all. Isn't that ridiculous? That kind of suggestions just never help!!! Don't you think it would be much constructive to rescue women from this kind of helpless circumstances before they are trapped into it? Such as Mandatory Medical check up before marriage? Though, you may say that the husbands were extremely well behaved and in good health before marraige and after sometimes, he distorted and be the HIV victimes. And in this circumstances, women should be assisted to get rid of them instead of cope with them~~ If husbands could do this kind of thing, what hope could still women bank on them?? And what if children were involved??uhuh, I believe women could be a survivor in every field if they are confident every moment. Of course, with the asisstance and care from US, the warm and civilised Malaysians as well as our considerate and thoughtful government.THAT's why this year theme is "SHAPING PROGRESS".Towards a better life for not just women, but every walks of life.(see, women are noble and not selfish)

DATO SAMY VELLU"S BIRTHDAY

Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, whose full name is Samy Vellu Sangalimuthu (Tamil: சாமிவேலு சங்கிலிமுத்து) (born March 8, 1936), is the longest serving president of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) . He has held the position since 1979, for 10 consecutive terms. He is also the Works Minister of Malaysia and also the longest serving minister in the Cabinet of Malaysia. Moreover, he is the only Malaysian Indian minister and the representative of the ethnic Indian community in the Malaysian cabinet.In 1989, conferred "The Man Of The Year Award" by the International Road Federation at Las Vegas for outstanding achievements as Minister Of Works, Malaysia. In 2003, the Minister was conferred one of India's highest award, the "Pravasi Bharatiya Samman" by the Government of India in New Delhi. And in the same year, he was awarded the "Malaysia Water Award for Management 2003" by the Malaysian Water Association. ( wikipedia)WOW...He would be 72 years old two more days.
